Does CitationHQ still submit to Tupalo?

No. We removed it from every plan on 11 September 2026. We keep this page up so the record is public rather than quietly deleted, and because people still search for the site.

I already have a Tupalo listing. What should I do?

Nothing needs doing, and nothing can be done. The page your listing sat on is not reachable, so it passes no link and shows no one your details. It does no harm where it is. Put the effort into directories that are actually up.

How do you spot a directory that has died?

Domain Rating alone does not catch it, because the score lags by months. We now check three things together on every review: that the domain answers an HTTP request, that the page title still describes the business we expect, and that Ahrefs records live organic traffic. Tupalo passed on reputation for months after it stopped working.

Tupalo was a global review and directory site with a UK presence, and for a long time it was a reasonable mid-tier citation. It is not one any more.

We carried Tupalo in our plans while this was happening. The listing data in our own files said DR 0 and 500K monthly visits, both taken on trust and neither checked against the live site. That is our mistake, and the fix is in how we review the list now rather than in this page.

What we changed

Every directory we sell is now checked on three signals at review time: a live HTTP response, a page title that still matches the directory we think it is, and organic traffic that Ahrefs can actually see. A domain can keep a high Domain Rating for months after it stops working, so the score on its own proves nothing.
